Breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day. Treat yourself to this granola!

I eat granola for breakfast in every season, year round - at home and when camping. I always strive to eat at least as good in the wilderness as when I am expending much less energy at home! Why compromise on taste and nutrition when you are camping?

The granola recipe below has NO preservatives, NO salt, NO added sugar, and NO artificial colors. There aren't many packaged cereals in this category - except home-cooked oatmeal which is my second choice.

I enjoy granola year-round!

My wife and I have been making a variation of this recipe for over 50 years. It is easy to make, doesn't require too many ingredients, and stores well. The dry, toasted granola doesn't require special handling so it is also our Go-To breakfast on the road, at least in the warmer months.

This granola recipe allows endless taste variations!

Feel free to alter the mix of fruit and nuts, adding or subtracting to suit your tastes. Common ingredients include cashews, coconut flakes, or dried strawberries or raspberries. If you have access to fresh fruit you can delete the dried fruit entirely.

Enjoy tasty, natural granola more often!

Best of all, granola isn't just for breakfast! Add layers of your favorite yogurt to make a great granola parfait! Drizzle with additional honey if using unsweetened yogurt.
